Job Overview:



Peace Naturals Project, a subsidiary of PharmaCan, is recruiting a Research Horticulturalist to provide important support in the development and maintenance of our organizations strategic production standards.  PharmaCan and all subsidiaries are committed to providing and developing high quality cannabis for the current market needs utilizing natural production methods.


Candidate will be reporting directly the Vice President of Manufacturing and working in cooperation with our Master grower and Pest Management Team members.



Job Requirements


Key Accountabilities:

  • Produces and/or maintains a diverse and unique genetic palette of plants.

  • Produces and prepares soils, fertilizers and chemicals needed to properly grow plants.

  • Responsible for plant production within an indoor growing environment.

  • Confirms temperatures, light level controls, and air circulation devices to regulate plant growth.

  • Aids in the development and execution of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to control of pest.

  • Provides leadership to staff and interns. Assigns related tasks and reviews results.

  • Designs and completes scientific research and development to further the organization with genetic development, pest management, quality control measures and plant care strategies.

  • Prepares letters, memoranda, research reports, other documents, and keeps data on plants and program records.

  • Other duties as required to support the organization.


  • Must be able to obtain a Responsible Person in Charge (RPIC) security clearance.

  • MS or PhD in a relevant biological science emphasizing horticulture or floriculture greenhouse production (PhD is preferred but not required).

  • Experience with cannabis desired but not required.

  • Strong working knowledge and interest in propagation, potted plant production, and postharvest physiology.

  • Demonstrated ability to design and conduct specific research to answer questions and solve problems to develop and commercialize postharvest products or technologies.

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Scientific curiosity, personal drive and networking abilities.

  • Able to work in varying temperatures.
